ZANNAH: Has decided we messed up big time when we spelled her name. She signs her school papers Zannah May.........because Mae is not the proper spelling. And recently has dropped the "h" off the end of her name.
MAX: Oh Max, he is at such a funny age. One day as the kids were bathing, Zannah asked why Max's skin is darker than the rest of ours. Max replied, " Zannah, it's just my black. I got it from Anastasia and it's awesome!"
Next we are sitting at our church Christmas party and the kids are grouped on the floor listening to the Polar Express when Santa walks in. The kids are oohing and excitedly waving when Max starts exclaiming, "Guys it's not the real Santa! Look he isn't wearing black gloves. HE IS NOT SANTA!"
Most recently, Max runs up to me after church ends, the halls are packed with other hungry human beings desperate to get home, and excitedly shows me the picture he drew in class. "Mom look what I drew for you. It is you running into a cactus." And it was.
METTA: At fifteen and a half months (and after some hip x-rays born out of paranoia) she is finally walking more than she scoots. And still cute as a button.

"It's just my black." Love that. The gloves? Of all things...nice! I can totally see Zannah changing things wherever she can. That is great. I've done things like that out of paranoia. We live and learn as moms and you never know when mom sense will pay off. Love your kids!
